What is the best time to post on X?
At 9, 10 and 11 AM in your local time, best Tuesday to Thursday. Buffer’s 2026 study of 8.7 million X posts ranks Tuesday at 9 AM first, then Wednesday at 10 AM and 9 AM, and finds evenings from 6 to 11 PM and Saturdays weakest.
What is the best time to post on LinkedIn?
At 4 PM, 3 PM and 11 AM in your local time, best Tuesday to Thursday. Buffer’s 2026 study of 4.8 million LinkedIn posts finds 3 to 8 PM best, with Wednesday at 4 PM first. Sprout Social’s 2026 study finds Tuesday 11 AM to 5 PM, Wednesday 11 AM to 4 PM and Thursday 11 AM and 1 to 5 PM. Both find weekends quiet.
Which time zone are these times in?
Your own. Buffer normalizes its data so every time reads as local time: 9 AM means 9 AM where you are. Sprout Social lists local time too, in your audience’s time zone.
How is the heatmap made?
Each network’s week is a weekday curve times an hour-of-day curve, set to what the studies report: their best and weakest days, their best hours and their quietest times. 100 is the busiest hour of the week. Buffer’s charts cover 6 AM to 10 PM, so the night hours are an estimate. It’s the map Flaghand starts every account from.
Will my own best times be different?
Often: your audience isn’t the average. Flaghand reads your X account’s own posts, compares each with your usual, and learns your best hours once 60 posts have settled, then suggests the next best time for every draft. LinkedIn doesn’t share post analytics with apps, so LinkedIn times come from the studies.
