    Questions.

What does this X thread maker do?

It splits long text into a thread of X posts at the ends of sentences, keeps every post within 280 characters as X counts them, and draws each post exactly as X shows it. Copy the posts into X one by one, or schedule the thread with Flaghand.

How does X count the characters in a post?

Each post holds 280. A link counts as 23 whatever its length, an emoji as 2, and each Chinese, Japanese or Korean character as 2. The count here follows X’s composer rule for rule, so a post that fits here fits on X.

    Where does it split?

At the end of a paragraph or a sentence. Only a sentence too long for one post breaks at a comma, then between words. A link is never cut.

    Can I move a split?

Yes. Under a post, the up arrow moves its last sentence to the next post and the down arrow brings the next sentence up. A line with only --- forces a split there.

How do I post a thread on X?

In X’s composer, paste post 1, press + to add a post and paste post 2, and so on, then Post all. Or schedule the whole thread with Flaghand.

    Is my text uploaded?

No. The thread is made in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.
