Questions.

How do I make text bold on X?

Write or paste your post here, select the words and press Bold, then Copy text and paste the post into X. The bold letters are Unicode characters, not formatting, so X shows them like any other text, in its apps and on the web.

Do bold letters count more on X?

Yes. X counts each styled letter as 2 of a post’s 280, as it does an emoji or a •, so a bold sentence takes twice the room. The count here is X’s own.

Do styled letters hurt accessibility or search?

They can. Screen readers may spell them out, read their Unicode names or skip them, and search, X’s included, may not match them to the plain words. Style a few words for emphasis, and keep names, @handles, hashtags and key words plain.

How do I add a list to a post on X?

Select the lines and press • List, or 1. List for numbers. Each line then starts with • or 1., 2., 3., plain characters X shows as typed. Enter at the end of a list line starts the next one.

Where does X cut a long post?

Over 280, only X Premium can post it, and the timeline shows the first part, then Show more: it cuts at the last space within the first 280. The preview shows where.

Can I paste a draft written in Markdown?

Yes. Paste it and press From Markdown: **bold**, *italic*, `code`, headings and - lists become styled letters and • lists.

Is my post uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.

How do I share it?

Copy link copies a link that opens this same post: the text and settings ride in it after the #, which browsers never send to a server, and your photo stays out. Download PNG saves the post as an image at twice its size, drawn in your browser.
