Questions.

What is a UTM link?

A link with tags on its end, like ?utm_source=x&utm_medium=social, that tell your analytics where a visit came from. The page opens just the same. Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, PostHog and most other analytics tools read them.

Which tags should I use for X, LinkedIn and TikTok?

Source names the network: x, linkedin or tiktok. Medium is social, which Google Analytics files under Organic Social. Campaign groups one push’s posts, like launch_week, and content tells them apart, like post_01. Analytics tools count Launch and launch apart, so the builder writes every tag in lowercase, with underscores for spaces.

Does a tagged link use more of X’s 280 characters?

No. X counts every link as 23 characters, however long, and shows only its start. LinkedIn counts a link’s full length against its 3,000 and shows it as a short lnkd.in link that keeps the tags.

Can I tag every link in a thread?

Yes. Pick Several links and paste the links, one a line, or the whole thread. Each link gets its own content tag, numbered in order (link_01, link_02 and on), so you can tell which post a visit came from, and Copy all gives the text back with the tagged links in place.

What happens to a link’s own parameters?

They stay as written, in their order, and a #section stays at the end. Only the four tags the builder sets are replaced; utm_term and utm_id are kept.

Can I put a link in a TikTok caption?

TikTok doesn’t make links in captions clickable. Tag the link in your profile’s website instead, with the TikTok preset.

Is my link uploaded?

No. It is tagged in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.
