Questions.
How do I convert PNG to WebP?
Drop the PNG images on the page, or choose them. Each is saved as a WebP at once. Choose Download beside one, or Download all for a .zip.
Does the WebP keep transparency?
Yes. A WebP keeps the see-through parts of a PNG, unlike a JPG.
Is a WebP smaller than a PNG?
Usually much smaller. An 800 × 800 logo saved as a 39 KB PNG came out as a 15 KB WebP at quality 92. The page shows each file’s size before and after.
Does it lower the quality?
A little: a PNG keeps every pixel and a WebP is compressed at the quality you pick. Most images look the same at 92, the default. The image keeps its own width and height.
Where can I post a WebP?
X and TikTok photo posts take WebP. Through their APIs, LinkedIn, Threads and Instagram don’t, so post the PNG or a JPG there.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Each image is converted in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.
Other formats: WebP to PNG, PNG to JPG, JPG to PNG and JPG to WebP. To make a photo smaller too, use the image compressor. Every network’s photo sizes are in the social media image sizes guide.
