How to schedule TikTok posts

Start with TikTok Studio on the web. If your account has the scheduling control, upload the finished video, choose its settings and a future time, then confirm the schedule. For a shared calendar or a longer queue, consider a scheduling tool, but check whether it actually publishes or only sends you a reminder or an inbox draft.

TikTok's help pages and developer documentation were checked on October 26, 2026. The instructions below describe TikTok's documented workflows, not a posting test on a real account. TikTok's sources describe different surfaces; their timing windows aren't interchangeable.

Who can schedule in TikTok Studio?

TikTok's Tools for creators help page says TikTok Studio can upload, schedule and edit posts, and that creator tools are available for both Personal and Business Accounts. It also says features differ between the app and the web, and can depend on region and eligibility. Access to Studio doesn't guarantee every account gets the same scheduling control. Use the browser for these steps; don't assume a control shown on the web will also appear in the phone app.

There is an important difference in TikTok's sources: its separate Video Scheduler walkthrough specifies a Business Account for desktop scheduling. That narrower requirement belongs to that walkthrough; it isn't proof that all current Studio tools require switching a Personal Account to Business. Check what your account actually offers before changing its type.

How far ahead can you schedule a TikTok?

The Video Scheduler walkthrough documents 15 minutes to 10 days ahead. It also says the scheduling timezone defaults to your computer's setting. Treat that as the window documented for that scheduler, not a promise about every account or TikTok surface. TikTok's broader Studio help page does not give a numeric scheduling window.

TikTok's Web Business Suite help, updated May 2026, lists a Scheduler for Business Accounts but doesn't state its advance window. Its 30-day reporting periods are analytics, not a scheduling allowance.

You may also see a 30-day claim. TikTok Shop's US shoppable-video guide, dated May 13, 2026, documents 30 minutes to 30 days ahead for TikTok Shop creators' shoppable videos. That is a separate workflow, not evidence that every ordinary Studio upload can be scheduled a month ahead. The date picker in your account is the practical check; don't plan a month of regular posts solely from a Shop tutorial.

Schedule a video in TikTok's own web tools

These steps follow TikTok's Video Scheduler walkthrough. Labels can differ in today's Studio interface.

  1. Sign in to TikTok on the web and open the upload page in TikTok Studio. TikTok's walkthrough starts from the cloud-shaped upload control on its website. Confirm you're in the account that should publish the video.
  2. Upload the finished video and review the post. Set the caption, hashtags, cover, visibility and interaction choices offered for that account. Don't confuse uploading a file with confirming a schedule.
  3. Turn on Schedule and choose the date and time. Check the timezone, including a computer set for travel or a different location. Use the dates the account's picker actually permits.
  4. Confirm and check that the post appears in the scheduled list. TikTok's walkthrough says scheduled posts can be seen alongside drafts on desktop and mobile. A saved draft without a scheduled time isn't a queued publication.
  5. Check the result after the chosen time. The walkthrough says TikTok sends a push notification when it posts. Confirm the post is live on the intended account; don't treat an earlier upload confirmation as publication.

Can you edit a scheduled TikTok? The Video Scheduler walkthrough says you cannot change the video, caption or scheduled time after scheduling: delete that scheduled item, make the changes and upload it again. Those are the walkthrough's documented rules; check the controls on your current surface before relying on an edit being possible. Cancel the old item before confirming a replacement so both don't publish.

If Schedule is missing, check that you're using the web surface and that the account is eligible for that feature. TikTok's general Studio availability statement alone isn't a guarantee. Neither saving a draft nor setting a reminder makes TikTok publish it automatically.

When a scheduling tool is useful

A separate tool can be a better fit for a team calendar, multiple networks or a queue beyond the native date picker. TikTok itself describes automatic publishing through Later in a partner scheduling walkthrough from July 28, 2022. That's evidence of a partner workflow, not a current comparison of Later's plans or a guarantee that any tool can publish every TikTok format.

Before choosing a tool, check its current documentation for the exact account and post type you use:

For photo slides, the free TikTok slideshow maker prepares downloadable images in the browser. It doesn't schedule or publish. This guide doesn't repeat its editing or export steps.

What the Content Posting API changes

TikTok's Content Posting API offers two different routes, not a single scheduling switch:

The Direct Post video request has no future publication date/time field. A service using that endpoint needs to keep its own queue and initiate the approved post when due; TikTok still processes it asynchronously. That is not a reservation in TikTok Studio, nor a guarantee the post becomes visible at an exact second. Creator-control, consent and audit requirements still apply.

For scopes, photo support, audit requirements and result states, read TikTok's Content Posting API, explained rather than treating this scheduling guide as an API implementation recipe.

Where Flaghand stands

Flaghand does not currently offer TikTok scheduling. TikTok inbox drafts are in beta; public Direct Post waits for TikTok's audit. An inbox result is a handoff, not a published post, and is not a comparison of the live post against an approved preview. Agents draft, upload, check and request approval; they cannot approve, schedule or post. Only the owner approves the exact snapshot in Flaghand with their passkey before anything is sent.

Public sign-up is closed. This page therefore includes no Flaghand account-setup or posting steps, and doesn't promise access to a scheduler that hasn't shipped. The linked API explainer describes current capabilities; the free slideshow maker works without an account. Get access to Flaghand goes to the waitlist until sign-up opens.
