Flaghand

Flaghand vs Zernio (formerly Late) for posting with AI agents

Pick Zernio if you want a free start for 2 accounts, low per-account prices at volume, or Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Reddit, Snapchat and messaging apps from one API. Pick Flaghand if an AI agent writes your posts and nothing may go live until you approve the exact post with your passkey. Both give an agent an API and an MCP server; the difference is that Zernio's can publish, and Flaghand's never can.

Late, at getlate.dev, is now Zernio: its old pricing address redirects to Zernio's. Checked on November 3, 2026, on Zernio's own pricing page, create-post API, MCP server documentation and supported platforms. Prices and features change, so check those pages before you choose.

When Zernio fits better

  • You want a free start. The first 2 connected accounts are free, with no card. Flaghand has no free plan; see its current free-start terms at /pricing before adding a card to approve.
  • You post to many accounts. Prices step down by band: 10 accounts cost $48 a month, and 100 cost $318 (8 at $6 and 90 at $3).
  • You post to Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Reddit, Google Business Profile or Snapchat, or send on WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord or Slack. Zernio does. Flaghand doesn't.
  • You want an unattended backend. A request with the API key publishes now or at its scheduledFor time, with no person in the loop.

When Flaghand fits better

  • Your agent writes and you approve. No Flaghand token can approve, schedule or post, so an agent can't publish by mistake, whatever its instructions say.
  • You approve exactly what goes out. Your passkey signs the exact text, media, account and time; any change needs a new approval.

Who can publish

Zernio's create-post API publishes "synchronously, inside this request" with publishNow: true, and at the given time with scheduledFor. A scheduledFor already in the past publishes at once. isDraft: true saves the post and never publishes it, but the same key can publish that draft later, so a draft is the agent's choice, not a rule.

Zernio's MCP server at https://mcp.zernio.com/mcp signs in with your Zernio account. Once connected, its docs say, your assistant "can post, schedule, answer DMs and comments, read analytics and manage ads on every account you've connected." The check it names is your AI app's own prompt before a tool call: "You ask in plain language and approve the result."

Flaghand doesn't depend on whose key it is or which plan you're on. No API token scope can approve, schedule or post. Those routes refuse every token and accept only an owner of the workspace, approving with a passkey. Apps that connect to Flaghand's MCP server by OAuth, such as Claude and ChatGPT, get a draft-only token: read, drafts, media and request-approval.

What you approve

In Zernio, what you check is whatever your AI app shows you before its tool call, if it asks.

In Flaghand, the agent checks its drafts and asks you to approve them. Approving freezes each post into a snapshot: the account, the time, the text, every media file and its alt text, and the exact request that will be sent. Flaghand hashes it with SHA-256 and records your passkey signature over the hash. Changing the text, media, account or time needs a new approval, and the scheduler checks the signed snapshot again right before posting. Flaghand draws X and LinkedIn posts at each feed's width, and its check flags anything that wouldn't post exactly as previewed.

After it posts

Flaghand reads each X post back and compares it with what you approved: normalized text, author, hidden reply mentions, media count, available alt text, reply chain and quote. It doesn't verify link destinations or the media files themselves, and LinkedIn posts aren't read back. Zernio returns each post's URL and status, sends webhooks and includes analytics; its documentation, read on November 3, 2026, describes no comparison like this.

TikTok slideshows

Through Flaghand's slideshow API, an agent lays out a TikTok photo slideshow: photos, text and styles, slide by slide. One renderer draws it for the preview you approve and for the images TikTok receives, pixel for pixel, and the approval covers that render's hash. The free TikTok slideshow maker uses the same renderer. TikTok is still reviewing Flaghand: Flaghand and TikTok says what you can post until it finishes. Zernio publishes to TikTok today.

Questions

Is Flaghand a Zernio alternative for AI agents? Yes, if you post to X, LinkedIn personal profiles, YouTube, Bluesky or Pinterest and want to approve each post yourself. Your agent drafts through Flaghand's API, CLI or MCP server, and only your passkey approval of the exact post makes it go live. Zernio stays the better pick for a free start, many accounts, and Instagram, Facebook, Threads or Reddit.

Is Zernio the same as Late? Yes. Late's getlate.dev pricing address now redirects to Zernio's pricing page.

Can Zernio's MCP server publish posts? Yes. Once you sign in, your assistant can post and schedule on every account you've connected in Zernio. The only check its docs name is your AI app's prompt before each action.

Does Zernio have an approval workflow for posts? Not in the pages checked here. isDraft saves a post without publishing, and the same API key or MCP connection can publish it.

How much does Zernio cost? On November 3, 2026: the first 2 connected accounts are free; accounts 3 to 10 cost $6 each a month, 11 to 100 cost $3 and 101 onward $1. X API calls are billed on top at X's own rates.
