# YouTube banner size checker

https://flaghand.com/youtube-banner-size shows an image as a YouTube channel banner: the template (what a TV shows, the
band a computer and a phone show, and the safe area), a computer's channel page, a phone's and a TV. It checks the image
against YouTube's sizes, from its Help Center page Manage your channel branding
(https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/10456525), checked on November 2, 2026:

- 2560 × 1440 recommended (especially for TV), 2048 × 1152 at least, 16:9, 6 MB or smaller.
- Safe area for text and logos: 1235 × 338 in the middle of a 2048 × 1152 banner (about 1544 × 423 of 2560 × 1440).
- A computer and a phone show the full width and the middle 413 of 1440 pixels, in a box 6.2 times as wide as tall
(measured on YouTube's channel pages on November 2, 2026). A TV shows all of it.

Free, no sign-up. It runs in your browser: the image is never uploaded or stored. The template downloads as a
2560 × 1440 PNG, and the image cropped to 16:9 and resized to 2560 × 1440 as a JPG under 6 MB.

## How to use it

1. Drop or choose the image.
2. Switch between Template, Computer, Phone and TV. Keep words and logos inside the white line.

An agent can open it on a view with the link's hash, which never reaches a server:

Sizes and the safe area checked on November 2, 2026, on YouTube’s Help Center page [Manage your channel branding](https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/10456525). The computer and phone band is what YouTube’s own channel pages showed that day, on a computer and in a phone’s browser. The channel header under the banner is Flaghand’s drawing.

## Questions.

### What size is a YouTube banner?

2560 × 1440 pixels (16:9) is the size YouTube recommends, especially for TV. It takes 2048 × 1152 at least, in a file of 6 MB or smaller.

### What is the YouTube banner safe area?

The middle 1235 × 338 pixels of a 2048 × 1152 banner (about 1544 × 423 of a 2560 × 1440 one). YouTube asks you to keep text and logos there, because each screen crops the banner differently.

### How much of the banner does a computer or a phone show?

A band across the middle. On November 2, 2026, YouTube’s channel pages on a computer and in a phone’s browser showed the full width and the middle 413 of 1440 pixels height, in a box 6.2 times as wide as tall. A TV shows the whole banner.

### Why is my YouTube banner cut off?

Because only a TV shows the whole 16:9 image. Computers and phones show the band across the middle, so anything above or below it is cut. Keep it inside the safe area.

### Where do these numbers come from?

The sizes and the safe area are from YouTube’s Help Center page Manage your channel branding, checked on November 2, 2026. The band is what YouTube’s own channel pages showed on a computer and a phone that day.

### Is my image uploaded?

No. It is opened, drawn and resized in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.
