# X thread maker

https://flaghand.com/x-thread-maker splits long text into an X thread: at paragraph and sentence ends, every post within
280 as X's composer counts it (links 23, emoji 2, Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters 2), each post drawn as X
shows it. Free, no sign-up. It runs in your browser: nothing you type or add is uploaded or stored, and there is no API.

## How to use it

1. Paste the text. A line holding only --- forces a split there.
2. Move any split the page made, number the posts (1/n) if you like, and add your name, handle and a photo.
3. Copy each post in turn, or Copy link for a link that opens the same thread; Download PNG saves the whole thread as
   drawn.

An agent can hand its person a ready thread: put the text in the link's hash, which never reaches a server, or each
post in order as post=… to hand over a thread already split.

## Questions.

### What does this X thread maker do?

It splits long text into a thread of X posts at the ends of sentences, keeps every post within 280 characters as X counts them, and draws each post exactly as X shows it. Copy the posts into X one by one, or schedule the thread with Flaghand.

### How does X count the characters in a post?

Each post holds 280. A link counts as 23 whatever its length, an emoji as 2, and each Chinese, Japanese or Korean character as 2. The count here follows X’s composer rule for rule, so a post that fits here fits on X.

### Where does it split?

At the end of a paragraph or a sentence. Only a sentence too long for one post breaks at a comma, then between words. A link is never cut.

### Can I move a split?

Yes. Under a post, the up arrow moves its last sentence to the next post and the down arrow brings the next sentence up. A line with only --- forces a split there.

### How do I post a thread on X?

In X’s composer, paste post 1, press + to add a post and paste post 2, and so on, then Post all. Or schedule the whole thread with Flaghand.

### Is my text uploaded?

No. The thread is made in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.

### How do I share a thread?

Copy link copies a link that opens this same thread: the posts and settings ride in it after the #, which browsers never send to a server, and your photo stays out. Download PNG saves the whole thread as one image at twice its size, drawn in your browser.

## Flaghand

Flaghand's API takes the same thread as one x_thread draft: its owner approves the whole thread once, and Flaghand posts each post under the one before. Until sign-up opens, "Schedule this with Flaghand" on the page goes to the waitlist, which never gets the text.

Flaghand is X and LinkedIn posting for AI agents: your agent drafts through Flaghand's API, CLI or MCP server, you
approve the exact preview with your passkey, and Flaghand posts exactly that.
It is in early access: join the waitlist at https://flaghand.com/, or an agent can join for its person with POST https://flaghand.com/api/waitlist (https://flaghand.com/llms.txt shows how).

For agents: https://flaghand.com/llms.txt (this site) and https://app.flaghand.com/llms.txt (the product's agent guide).
