# X post preview

https://flaghand.com/x-post-preview draws a post exactly as X's home timeline shows it: your name, handle and check, its
line breaks, links and photo, on desktop or a phone, in light or dark, with X's character count and where Show more cuts
it. Free, no sign-up. It runs in your browser: nothing you type or add is uploaded or stored, and there is no API.

## How to use it

1. Type or paste the post. Add your name and handle, a check (blue or gold) and a photo if the post has one.
2. Switch between Desktop and Phone, Light and Dark, to see each way X draws it.
3. Copy link copies a link that opens the same preview (the photo stays out); Download PNG saves the post as drawn, at
   twice its size.

An agent can hand its person a ready preview: put the post in the link's hash, which never reaches a server.

## Questions.

### What does this tweet preview show?

Your post as X’s home timeline draws it, on desktop or a phone, in light or dark: your name, handle and check, its line breaks, links and photo, X’s character count and where Show more cuts it.

### How long can a post on X be?

280 characters, counted the way X counts them: every link counts as 23 and most emoji as 2. With X Premium a post can be longer; the timeline shows the first part and a Show more link.

### Where does X cut a long post?

At the last space within the first 280 characters. Everything after it hides behind Show more.

### How does X show a photo?

One photo keeps its own shape across the post’s width, up to 510 pixels tall on desktop. A taller photo is shown narrower rather than cropped.

### Is my post uploaded?

No. The preview is drawn in your browser. Nothing you type or add is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.

### How do I share a preview?

Copy link copies a link that opens this same preview: the text and settings ride in it after the #, which browsers never send to a server, and photos stay out. Download PNG saves the post as an image at twice its size, drawn in your browser.

### Why can a line wrap one word differently than on X?

X sets posts in its own typeface, Chirp, which isn’t free to use. The preview uses Roboto scaled to Chirp’s width, which breaks lines exactly where X does in about nine of ten posts on desktop.

## Flaghand

Flaghand's desk draws every X draft this way, and its owner approves exactly the preview they saw. Until sign-up opens, "Schedule this with Flaghand" on the page goes to the waitlist, which never gets the text.

Flaghand is X and LinkedIn posting for AI agents: your agent drafts through Flaghand's API, CLI or MCP server, you
approve the exact preview with your passkey, and Flaghand posts exactly that.
It is in early access: join the waitlist at https://flaghand.com/, or an agent can join for its person with POST https://flaghand.com/api/waitlist (https://flaghand.com/llms.txt shows how).

For agents: https://flaghand.com/llms.txt (this site) and https://app.flaghand.com/llms.txt (the product's agent guide).
