# UTM builder

https://flaghand.com/utm-builder tags a link for the X, LinkedIn or TikTok post it goes in, as Flaghand tags its own
links: source x, linkedin or tiktok, medium social, then a campaign (one push's posts, e.g. launch_week) and a content
tag (one post, e.g. post_01), each lowercase with underscores for spaces. A link's other parameters and #fragment stay
as written; only those four tags are replaced. Free, no sign-up. It runs in your browser: nothing you type or add is uploaded or stored, and there is no API.

## How to use it

1. Paste a link, or pick Several links and paste links one a line, or a whole thread: each link is tagged in place and
numbered in its content tag (link_01, link_02, …).
2. Pick X, LinkedIn or TikTok; source and medium follow. Name the campaign and, for one link, its post.
3. Copy link (or Copy all), or Share these tags for a link that opens the builder set up the same way.

An agent can tag a link itself by these rules, or hand its person the builder set up, with the link and tags in the
link's hash, which never reaches a server:

- https://flaghand.com/utm-builder#links=First%3A%20https%3A%2F%2Fexample.com%2Fa%0ASecond%3A%20example.com%2Fb&platform=linkedin&campaign=launch_week

Fields: link or links, platform=x|linkedin|tiktok, source, medium, campaign, content.

## Questions.

### What is a UTM link?

A link with tags on its end, like ?utm\_source=x&utm\_medium=social, that tell your analytics where a visit came from. The page opens just the same. Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, PostHog and most other analytics tools read them.

### Which tags should I use for X, LinkedIn and TikTok?

Source names the network: x, linkedin or tiktok. Medium is social, which Google Analytics files under Organic Social. Campaign groups one push’s posts, like launch\_week, and content tells them apart, like post\_01. Analytics tools count Launch and launch apart, so the builder writes every tag in lowercase, with underscores for spaces.

### Does a tagged link use more of X’s 280 characters?

No. X counts every link as 23 characters, however long, and shows only its start. LinkedIn counts a link’s full length against its 3,000 and shows it as a short lnkd.in link that keeps the tags.

### Can I tag every link in a thread?

Yes. Pick Several links and paste the links, one a line, or the whole thread. Each link gets its own content tag, numbered in order (link\_01, link\_02 and on), so you can tell which post a visit came from, and Copy all gives the text back with the tagged links in place.

### What happens to a link’s own parameters?

They stay as written, in their order, and a #section stays at the end. Only the four tags the builder sets are replaced; utm\_term and utm\_id are kept.

### Can I put a link in a TikTok caption?

TikTok doesn’t make links in captions clickable. Tag the link in your profile’s website instead, with the TikTok preset.

### Is my link uploaded?

No. It is tagged in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.

## Flaghand

Flaghand tags the links in its own posts this way. Until sign-up opens, "Post it with Flaghand" on the page goes to the waitlist, which never gets the link.

Flaghand is X and LinkedIn posting for AI agents: your agent drafts through Flaghand's API, CLI or MCP server, you
approve the exact preview with your passkey, and Flaghand posts exactly that.
It is in early access: join the waitlist at https://flaghand.com/, or an agent can join for its person with POST https://flaghand.com/api/waitlist (https://flaghand.com/llms.txt shows how).

For agents: https://flaghand.com/llms.txt (this site) and https://app.flaghand.com/llms.txt (the product's agent guide).
