# QR code generator

https://flaghand.com/qr-code-generator turns a link or any text into a static QR code: the text itself is in the code
(byte mode, UTF-8), so it never expires and no server counts or redirects its scans. Up to 2,953 bytes at 7% error
correction, 2,331 at 15% (the default), 1,663 at 25% and 1,273 at 30%. The code's colour and background can be changed;
the page warns when they are too close or the wrong way round, and where the browser has its own QR reader (Chrome on a
Mac or Android) it reads the code back. Download a PNG of 512, 1024 or 2048 pixels or an SVG, with the standard
four-square quiet zone. Free, no sign-up. It runs in your browser: nothing you type or add is uploaded or stored, and there is no API.

## How to use it

Type or paste the link; the code is made as you type. Pick the error correction and colours, then Download PNG or
Download SVG. To count scans, tag the link first with https://flaghand.com/utm-builder and read the visits in your
analytics.

An agent can open it filled in through the link's hash, which never reaches a server:
https://flaghand.com/qr-code-generator#text=https%3A%2F%2Fexample.com&ecc=H&dark=%23c8321e&px=2048
Fields: text, ecc=L|M|Q|H, dark and light (#rrggbb), px=512|1024|2048.

## Questions.

### How do I make a QR code?

Type or paste the link. Its QR code is made as you type. Then choose Download PNG for a post or a slide, or Download SVG for print at any size.

### Does this QR code expire?

No. It is a static code: the link itself is in the black and white squares, so it works as long as the link does. No server sits between the scan and your link, so nothing can switch it off or ask you to pay later.

### Are scans tracked?

No. A phone that scans it opens your link directly. To count scans, tag the link with UTM parameters first and read the visits in your own analytics.

### Which error correction should I pick?

15%, the default, suits a screen or clean print. Pick 25% or 30% for print that may get scuffed, or to put a small logo over the middle; the code gets denser as the level goes up.

### How do I make a QR code for my Instagram, TikTok or X profile?

Paste your profile’s link, such as https://www.instagram.com/yourname, https://www.tiktok.com/@yourname or https://x.com/yourname. The code opens that profile.

### Can I change the colours?

Yes. Keep the code dark on a light background with strong contrast: the page warns when phones may not read your colours, and in Chrome on a Mac or Android it reads the code back to check.

### Is my link uploaded?

No. The code is made in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.

Tag the link first with the [UTM builder](https://flaghand.com/utm-builder) to see the scans as visits in your analytics. The [link preview checker](https://flaghand.com/link-preview-checker) shows how the same link looks when you post it on X and LinkedIn. To post the code itself, the [social media image sizes guide](https://flaghand.com/docs/guides/social-media-image-sizes) has each network’s photo sizes.

## Flaghand

A downloaded PNG goes into a Flaghand draft like any image (`flaghand media upload FILE`), and its owner approves the post before it goes out.

Flaghand is X and LinkedIn posting for AI agents: your agent drafts through Flaghand's API, CLI or MCP server, you
approve the exact preview with your passkey, and Flaghand posts exactly that.
Sign up at https://app.flaghand.com/start. In a chat app, add the connector at https://app.flaghand.com/mcp: its sign-in page creates the account. An agent with a shell can start the sign-up for its person over HTTP (https://flaghand.com/llms.txt, Quickstart).

For agents: https://flaghand.com/llms.txt (this site) and https://app.flaghand.com/llms.txt (the product's agent guide).
