# OG image generator

https://flaghand.com/og-image-generator makes a link's image (og:image, twitter:image): a title, an optional line under it
and a logo or a photo, light or dark, as a 1200 × 630 PNG, the title set as large as it fits. It shows the image in X's
large card and LinkedIn's link card, as they draw them, with the words clear of the title label X lays over the image's
bottom left and of the sides LinkedIn's 16:9 thumbnail cuts. A free Open Graph image generator and Twitter card image
maker, no sign-up. In the browser nothing you type or add is uploaded or stored.

## How to use it

1. Type the title and, if you like, a line under it.
2. Add a logo or a photo, and pick a light or dark ground.
3. Check the cards, then download the PNG.
4. Put it on your site as og:image and twitter:image, and check the link in the link preview checker
   (https://flaghand.com/link-preview-checker).

An agent can open it set up: https://flaghand.com/og-image-generator#title=Ship%20notes&line=October&image=dark
(image=light|dark is the picture's ground; view=desktop|phone and theme=light|dark set the cards), or make the same PNG
directly: POST https://flaghand.com/api/og-image with JSON {"title": "Ship notes", "line": "October", "theme": "dark"},
and optionally "logo" and "photo", each a link or a data: URL. The answer is the PNG itself, and nothing is kept
(https://flaghand.com/llms.txt has the fields and errors).

## Questions.

### What size should an OG image be?

1200 × 630 (1.91:1), under 5 MB. X’s large card shows it whole. LinkedIn’s thumbnail is 16:9, so it cuts 3% from each side. This maker keeps your words clear of both.

### How do I add the image to my page?

Put the PNG on your site and name it in the page’s head: og:image for LinkedIn, Facebook and chat apps, and twitter:card summary\_large\_image for X’s large card. Then paste the link into the link preview checker.

### What’s a Twitter card image?

The picture X shows for a link in a post: the page’s twitter:image, or its og:image. With twitter:card summary\_large\_image it fills X’s large card at 1.91:1.

### Why does X put a label over my image?

X shows a link’s title in a small dark label over the bottom left of its large card, and no headline under it. The maker leaves that corner to the label, so it never covers your words.

### Are my logo and photo uploaded?

No. The image is drawn and saved in your browser. What you type and add never leaves it.

### Can my agent make one?

Yes. POST {"title": "Ship notes", "line": "October", "theme": "dark"} to /api/og-image on this site, with a logo or photo as a link or a data: URL. The answer is the same 1200 × 630 PNG.

## Flaghand

The cards here are drawn by Flaghand's own X and LinkedIn renderers, the ones its desk previews drafts with, so an owner approves the card people will see.

Flaghand is X and LinkedIn posting for AI agents: your agent drafts through Flaghand's API, CLI or MCP server, you
approve the exact preview with your passkey, and Flaghand posts exactly that.
