# Meme generator

https://flaghand.com/meme-generator puts words on the person's own photo: Classic sets the top and bottom text in white
capitals with a black edge (in Anton, a free typeface in Impact's style), Caption sets black words on a white band above
the photo, and bottom text on a band below it. The words are wrapped to the photo's width and sized to fit, at Small,
Medium or Large. The meme keeps the photo's shape, at least 800 pixels wide and at most 2048 on its longest side, and
downloads as a JPG or is copied as a PNG. No watermark and no templates: every picture is the person's own.
Free, no sign-up. It runs in your browser: nothing you type or add is uploaded or stored, and there is no API.

## How to use it

1. Drop, choose or paste a photo. A sample shows until you do.
2. Type the top and bottom text; the meme is drawn as you type.
3. Pick Classic or Caption and a text size, then Download JPG or Copy image.

### Classic

Words **Top and bottom** White capitals with a black edge, on the photo, readable on light and dark parts alike.

### Caption

Words **Above the photo** Black words on a white band, the photo whole below them; bottom text gets a band of its own.

No. The meme is drawn in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.

No. The file is your photo and your words, nothing else.

### What font is the classic meme text?

Classic memes use Impact. This page uses Anton, a free typeface drawn in the same style, in white capitals with a black edge, so it looks the same on every device.

### Are there meme templates?

No. Most well-known meme pictures belong to someone, so this page works only with your own photos and screenshots.

### What size is the meme?
