What does this LinkedIn formatter do?

This free LinkedIn text formatter turns selected words into bold, italic, bold italic or monospace Unicode letters and adds bullet or numbered lists. Preview the post, copy the text and paste it into LinkedIn; no sign-up is needed.

How do I use the LinkedIn post formatter?

Write or paste a post, select words and choose a style, or select lines and choose a list. Check the desktop or phone preview and character count, then press Copy text and paste into LinkedIn. The formatter does not publish your post.

How do I make text bold on LinkedIn?

LinkedIn has no bold button. Write or paste your post here, select the words and press Bold, then Copy text and paste the post into LinkedIn. The bold letters are Unicode characters, not formatting, so they stay bold.

Does bold text show in the LinkedIn app?

Yes. The styled letters are characters like any other, so the feed shows them in LinkedIn’s apps and on the web.

Do styled letters hurt accessibility or search?

They can. Screen readers may spell them out, read their Unicode names or skip them, and search, LinkedIn’s included, may not match them to the plain words. Style a few words for emphasis, and keep names, hashtags and key words plain.

How do I add bullet points on LinkedIn?

Select the lines and press • List, or 1. List for numbers. Each line then starts with • or 1., 2., 3., plain characters LinkedIn shows as typed. Enter at the end of a list line starts the next one.

Do styled letters count more of LinkedIn’s 3,000?

Yes. LinkedIn counts each bold, italic or monospace letter as 2, as it does most emoji. The count under your post includes it.

When does LinkedIn show …see more?

After three lines of text in the feed, or two when the third line is blank. A phone fits fewer words on a line, so the cut comes sooner there. The preview shows where.

Can I paste a draft written in Markdown?

Yes. Paste it and press From Markdown: **bold**, *italic*, `code`, headings and - lists become styled letters and • lists.

Is my post uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.

How do I share it?

Copy link copies a link that opens this same post: the text and settings ride in it after the #, which browsers never send to a server, and your photo stays out. Download PNG saves the post as an image at twice its size, drawn in your browser.
