# LinkedIn text formatter

https://flaghand.com/linkedin-text-formatter gives a LinkedIn post bold, italic, bold italic and monospace letters and bullet or numbered
lists that LinkedIn keeps, and draws the post as LinkedIn's feed shows it, with where …see more cuts it and LinkedIn's count of its 3,000. LinkedIn has no formatting in posts, so the styles are other
Unicode letters, which survive any paste. Free, no sign-up. It runs in your browser: nothing you type or add is uploaded or stored, and there is no API.

## How to use it

1. Type or paste the post, or paste a draft written in Markdown and choose From Markdown: **bold**, *italic*, `code`,
headings and - lists become the same letters and • lists.
2. Select words and choose Bold, Italic, Bold italic or Monospace (⌘B, ⌘I), or start a Bulleted or Numbered list.
   Plain takes styles off.
3. Copy text, and paste it into LinkedIn. Copy link copies a link that opens the same post; Download PNG saves it as
   drawn.

Style a few words, not whole posts: screen readers and search read styled letters poorly, so keep names, handles,
hashtags and links plain. You can write the letters yourself: Unicode's mathematical sans-serif bold (A U+1D5D4,
a U+1D5EE, 0 U+1D7EC), italic (A U+1D608, a U+1D622; digits stay plain), bold italic (A U+1D63C, a U+1D656, digits bold)
and monospace (A U+1D670, a U+1D68A, 0 U+1D7F6); only A-Z, a-z and 0-9 have them. A list is "• " or "1. " at a
line's start.

An agent can hand its person a post to check and copy, already styled, in the link's hash, which never reaches a
server: https://flaghand.com/linkedin-text-formatter#text=Hello%20world&name=Ada%20Lovelace&headline=Engineer

Fields: text, name, headline, view=desktop|phone, theme=light|dark.

## Questions.

### How do I make text bold on LinkedIn?

LinkedIn has no bold button. Write or paste your post here, select the words and press Bold, then Copy text and paste the post into LinkedIn. The bold letters are Unicode characters, not formatting, so they stay bold.

### Does bold text show in the LinkedIn app?

Yes. The styled letters are characters like any other, so the feed shows them in LinkedIn’s apps and on the web.

### Do styled letters hurt accessibility or search?

They can. Screen readers may spell them out, read their Unicode names or skip them, and search, LinkedIn’s included, may not match them to the plain words. Style a few words for emphasis, and keep names, hashtags and key words plain.

### How do I add bullet points on LinkedIn?

Select the lines and press • List, or 1. List for numbers. Each line then starts with • or 1., 2., 3., plain characters LinkedIn shows as typed. Enter at the end of a list line starts the next one.

### Do styled letters count more of LinkedIn’s 3,000?

Yes. LinkedIn counts each bold, italic or monospace letter as 2, as it does most emoji. The count under your post includes it.

### When does LinkedIn show …see more?

After three lines of text in the feed, or two when the third line is blank. A phone fits fewer words on a line, so the cut comes sooner there. The preview shows where.

### Can I paste a draft written in Markdown?

Yes. Paste it and press From Markdown: \*\*bold\*\*, \*italic\*, \`code\`, headings and - lists become styled letters and • lists.

### Is my post uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.

### How do I share it?

Copy link copies a link that opens this same post: the text and settings ride in it after the #, which browsers never send to a server, and your photo stays out. Download PNG saves the post as an image at twice its size, drawn in your browser.

## Flaghand

Flaghand's API takes styled text in a draft as it is. Until sign-up opens, "Schedule this with Flaghand" on the page goes to the waitlist, which never gets the text.

Flaghand is X and LinkedIn posting for AI agents: your agent drafts through Flaghand's API, CLI or MCP server, you
approve the exact preview with your passkey, and Flaghand posts exactly that.
It is in early access: join the waitlist at https://flaghand.com/, or an agent can join for its person with POST https://flaghand.com/api/waitlist (https://flaghand.com/llms.txt shows how).

For agents: https://flaghand.com/llms.txt (this site) and https://app.flaghand.com/llms.txt (the product's agent guide).
