# JPG to WebP converter

https://flaghand.com/jpg-to-webp saves JPG images as WebP, many at once, each at its own width and
height, turned the way its EXIF says. A WebP is encoded at quality 100, 92 or 80 (the default), usually in a smaller file than the JPG; the page shows each size before and after. It opens any of PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, AVIF and BMP (and HEIC where the
browser can); an animated image keeps only its first frame, and the page says so. Each new file is checked against the networks' photo rules as Flaghand checks them before posting: X takes
JPG, PNG or WebP up to 5 MB; LinkedIn JPG or PNG up to 5 MB; Threads JPG or PNG up to 8 MB; Instagram only JPG, up to
8 MB; TikTok photo posts JPG or WebP up to 20 MB. Download one file, or all as a .zip.

Free, no sign-up. It runs in your browser: nothing you type or add is uploaded or stored, and there is no API.

## How to use it

1. Drop, choose or paste JPG images.
2. Pick the quality: 100, 92 or 80 (80 by default).
3. Download one, or all as a .zip.

An agent can preset the choices in the link's hash, which never reaches a server (images can't travel in a link):
https://flaghand.com/jpg-to-webp#to=webp&quality=80
Fields: to=png|jpg|webp (the page starts on webp), quality=100|92|80. For WebP to PNG: https://flaghand.com/webp-to-png.

## Questions.

### How do I convert JPG to WebP?

Drop the JPG images on the page, or choose them. Each is saved as a WebP at once. Choose Download beside one, or Download all for a .zip.

### Is a WebP smaller than a JPG?

Usually, at quality 80, the default. A 1080 × 1350 photo saved as a 482 KB JPG came out as a 275 KB WebP. The page shows each file’s size before and after.

### Does it lower the quality?

A little, since the WebP is compressed again at the quality you pick. Pick 92 or 100 for less loss, in a bigger file. The image keeps its own width and height.

### Where can I post a WebP?

X and TikTok photo posts take WebP. Through their APIs, LinkedIn, Threads and Instagram don’t, so post the JPG there.

### Are my images uploaded?

No. Each image is converted in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.

### Why use WebP?

Every current browser shows WebP, and its files are usually smaller than a JPG’s, so a page with WebP images loads faster.

## Flaghand

A converted image goes into a Flaghand draft like any photo (`flaghand media upload FILE`), and its owner approves the post before it goes out.

Flaghand is X and LinkedIn posting for AI agents: your agent drafts through Flaghand's API, CLI or MCP server, you
approve the exact preview with your passkey, and Flaghand posts exactly that.
