# Image resizer

https://flaghand.com/image-resizer makes one photo (JPG, PNG or WebP) at every network's size at once, each drawn as it
will download: cropped to fill around a point the person drags (one point for every size), or the whole photo fitted
on a blurred copy of itself, white or black. Each size downloads as a JPG or PNG; a size that enlarges the photo says by
how much. The sizes, checked on November 3, 2026:

- Portrait post: 1080 × 1350 (4:5). Instagram, X and LinkedIn.
- Square post: 1080 × 1080 (1:1).
- Story, Reel or TikTok: 1080 × 1920 (9:16). Instagram Stories and Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts.
- Landscape post: 1920 × 1080 (16:9). X and LinkedIn.
- YouTube thumbnail: 1280 × 720 (16:9).
- Link image: 1200 × 630, the card a shared link shows on X, LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Pinterest Pin: 1000 × 1500 (2:3).
- X header: 1500 × 500 (3:1). LinkedIn banner: 1584 × 396 (4:1). YouTube banner: 2560 × 1440.
- Profile photo: 400 × 400, shown as a circle.
- Any other size from 16 to 8,192 pixels a side.

Free, no sign-up. It runs in your browser: nothing you type or add is uploaded or stored, and there is no API.

## How to use it

1. Drop, choose or paste a photo. A sample shows until you do.
2. Pick the sizes (the first four are on), or type a width and height and Add.
3. Pick Crop to fill and drag a crop into place, or Fit whole and a background.
4. Download each size.

An agent can preset the choices in the link's hash, which never reaches a server (the photo itself can't travel in a
link): https://flaghand.com/image-resizer#sizes=portrait,story,thumbnail&fit=fit&bg=white&format=png&custom=1200x1200
Fields: sizes (comma-separated: portrait, square, story, landscape, thumbnail, link, pin, x-header, li-banner, yt-banner,
profile), fit=crop|fit, bg=blur|white|black, format=jpeg|png, custom=WxH (comma-separated).

## Questions.

### How do I resize an image?

Drop the photo on the page, or choose it. It is made at once as a portrait post, a square post, a story and a landscape post. Pick more sizes or type your own, drag each crop into place, then download the ones you want.

### Is my photo uploaded?

No. The photo is resized in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.

### What size should an Instagram post be?

1080 × 1350 (4:5) for a portrait post, which takes the most room in the feed, or 1080 × 1080 for a square one. Stories and Reels are 1080 × 1920 (9:16).

### What is the difference between crop and fit?

Crop fills the whole size and cuts off what doesn’t fit; drag the photo to choose what stays. Fit keeps the whole photo and fills the rest with a blurred copy of it, white or black.

### Will resizing make my photo blurry?

Not when the size is smaller than the photo. When a size needs the photo enlarged, the page says by how much, since an enlarged photo can look soft.

### What size is a YouTube thumbnail?

1280 × 720 (16:9), at least 640 pixels wide. A YouTube banner is 2560 × 1440, with its text and logos inside the middle 1235 × 338.

To see a photo the way X and LinkedIn cut it in the feed, use the [image size checker](https://flaghand.com/image-size-checker). Every network’s photo sizes are in the [social media image sizes guide](https://flaghand.com/docs/guides/social-media-image-sizes).

## Flaghand

A downloaded size goes into a Flaghand draft like any image (`flaghand media upload FILE`), and Flaghand checks it against its network before its owner approves the post.

Flaghand is X and LinkedIn posting for AI agents: your agent drafts through Flaghand's API, CLI or MCP server, you
approve the exact preview with your passkey, and Flaghand posts exactly that.
Sign up at https://app.flaghand.com/start. In a chat app, add the connector at https://app.flaghand.com/mcp: its sign-in page creates the account. An agent with a shell can start the sign-up for its person over HTTP (https://flaghand.com/llms.txt, Quickstart).

For agents: https://flaghand.com/llms.txt (this site) and https://app.flaghand.com/llms.txt (the product's agent guide).
