# How to schedule X and LinkedIn posts from Cursor

Cursor can't post on a timer by itself, but its agent can schedule X and LinkedIn posts through a scheduler it reaches
over MCP. With Flaghand connected, you ask Cursor's agent for posts about the branch you're working on, with the times
they should go out. It drafts them, Flaghand checks each against X's and LinkedIn's rules, and you get one approval link
for the whole plan. You approve the exact posts and times with your passkey, and Flaghand posts each one at its time,
whether or not Cursor is still open.

Checked on November 3, 2026, against Flaghand's docs and Cursor's MCP docs, linked under [Sources](#sources).

## 1. Connect Flaghand to Cursor once

Ask Cursor's agent: "Set up Flaghand for me from https://app.flaghand.com/docs/setup.md." It signs you up over Flaghand's API in the
same chat and hands you only the links that need you: the sign-up, and X's and LinkedIn's own consent screens. Or add
`https://app.flaghand.com/mcp` to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` yourself and sign in. [Connect LinkedIn and X to
Cursor](/docs/guides/connect-linkedin-and-x-to-cursor) has both ways, step by step.

## 2. Ask for the posts and their times

In Cursor's agent chat, name what to post about, where, and when:

> Use Flaghand: draft an X thread and a LinkedIn post about the feature in this branch. Put the X thread on Tuesday at
> 9:30 AM and the LinkedIn post on Wednesday at 10 AM, my time, and send them to me for approval.

The agent writes the posts from your code and commits and saves them as drafts, each with its time. Flaghand checks
them: X's own character count, LinkedIn's 3,000 characters, the media and the time. Anything it would refuse comes back
to the agent to fix before you see it.

Don't know when to post? Ask the agent to use your posting slots or best times instead:

- **Weekly slots.** "Set my X slots to Tuesday and Thursday at 9 AM, then put each post in the next open slot."
- **Best times.** "Suggest the best times for my X account this week." For X, Flaghand learns them from your own
account's posts; for LinkedIn it uses published research.

## 3. Approve the plan with your passkey

The agent gives you one approval link. Open it on your phone or computer: each post is drawn the way X or LinkedIn will
show it, with its account and time. Approve with Face ID, Touch ID or a security key, and one tap covers the whole plan.
If something's off, tap **Send back** with a one-line note; the agent reads it, revises and asks again.

Cursor asks before it uses an MCP tool. Allowing that lets the agent save a draft or ask for your approval. It isn't the
approval to post, and no Flaghand token can approve, schedule or post.

## 4. Flaghand posts at each time

Each approved post waits for its time and posts then, from Flaghand's servers. You can close Cursor, switch branches or
turn your laptop off. Afterwards, ask the agent "Did my posts go out?": it reads the result, with each post's link. For
X, Flaghand reads the post back and compares it with what you approved. LinkedIn doesn't let Flaghand read posts back,
so you get the post's link.

To change a time or a word after approving, ask the agent to edit the draft. The edit voids the approval, and you
approve the new version.

## Questions

**Can Cursor post to X or LinkedIn without my approval?** No. Approving takes your passkey, and Flaghand's server
refuses any agent that tries to approve, schedule or post. Turning off Cursor's tool prompts doesn't change that.

**Does Cursor have to stay open until the post goes out?** No. Flaghand posts each approved post at its time from its own
servers.

**Can Cursor schedule a whole week of posts at once?** Yes. The agent sends every post in one plan, each with its own
time, and you approve them all with one passkey tap.

**Can it post images or a demo video from my project?** Yes. The agent uploads them to Flaghand with alt text, and they're
part of what you approve: up to 4 photos or one video on an X post, and up to 20 photos, one video or one PDF
document on LinkedIn.

**Can it post to a LinkedIn company page?** No. Flaghand posts to your personal LinkedIn profile.
