# Best social media schedulers for AI agents (MCP) in 2026

Ten schedulers let an AI agent such as Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor post for you through a hosted MCP server.
The best one depends on a single question: should your agent be able to publish by itself? If yes, Postiz is the
broadest pick and Buffer the cheapest start. If a person must approve every post, Flaghand is the one where the agent
can't publish at all, on any plan.

Flaghand wrote this guide, and Flaghand is one of the ten. It's third below, not first: it reaches fewer networks than
Postiz and Buffer and has no free plan. Prices were checked on November 3, 2026, on each tool's own pricing page, linked
under [Sources](#sources). Prices and features change, so check those pages before you choose.

## How we compared them

- **Agent access.** A hosted MCP server your AI app can connect to, plus an API or CLI, and which plans include it.
- **What the agent's credential can do.** Draft only, schedule, or publish at once. An agent that holds a key that can
publish can post anything its instructions, or a bad prompt, tell it to.
- **Approval.** Whether a person approves each post, and whether the server enforces it or it's a setting someone can
  skip.
- **Networks.** Where it posts. X and LinkedIn matter most for most agent users, so the list says when one is missing.
- **Price to start.** The cheapest way to use the MCP server, from the tool's own pricing page on November 3, 2026.
- **Open source.** Whether you can run it yourself.

"Can the agent publish" means the credential your agent holds, as each tool's own documentation describes it.

## 1. Postiz: the most networks, and open source

Postiz's docs list 34 platforms, among them X, LinkedIn and LinkedIn Pages, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok,
YouTube, Pinterest, Reddit, Bluesky and Mastodon, plus blogs and chat apps. Every cloud plan has the API, a CLI on npm,
webhooks and an MCP server with 13 tools. The code is open source (AGPL-3.0), and self-hosted it has no plan limits.

Its API key acts as you, and its MCP tool can schedule, draft or publish at once. Its own docs say approval is "a
conversation, not a state": there's no approved flag that blocks publishing.

**Fits:** an agent posting to many networks, or a team that wants to self-host. Standard is $29 a month for 5 channels;
Team $39, Pro $49 and Ultimate $99; each starts with a 7-day trial that needs a card.
[Flaghand vs Postiz](/docs/guides/flaghand-vs-postiz).

## 2. Buffer: the free start

Buffer's API and hosted MCP server come with every plan, the free one included, and Zapier, Make and n8n connect too.
It posts to 12 networks, including X, LinkedIn profiles and pages, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Threads.

An agent's credential can publish. On the Team plan, a user with the Needs Approval role sends posts for an owner to
approve, and that covers API and MCP drafts too.

**Fits:** trying an agent for free, or a small team on many networks. Free covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts
each; Essentials is $6 a channel a month ($5 billed yearly) and Team $12 ($10 billed yearly).
[Flaghand vs Buffer](/docs/guides/flaghand-vs-buffer).

## 3. Flaghand: when a person must approve every post

Flaghand's agent tokens can draft, upload media, check and ask for approval, and nothing else. No token on any plan can
approve, schedule or post. The owner approves the exact text, media, account and time with a passkey, and Flaghand
posts that and only that, at its time. Changing anything needs a new approval. Apps that connect to its MCP server by
OAuth, such as Claude and ChatGPT, get a draft-only token.

It previews each post at the network's measured layout and flags anything that wouldn't post exactly as shown. After
posting, it reads each X post back and compares it with what you approved.

It posts to X, LinkedIn personal profiles, YouTube, Bluesky and Pinterest, and to TikTok as private posts or to your
inbox until TikTok's audit. It has no Instagram, Facebook, Threads or LinkedIn company pages, no free plan and no
built-in AI writer: your own agent writes.

**Fits:** anyone who lets an agent write but wants to approve every post before it goes out.
$19 a month or $190 a year, with 1,500 credits a month; posting to X spends credits. Drafting is free for 7 days, with no card.

## 4. Typefully: writing for X and LinkedIn

Typefully posts to X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon and Substack. Its API, hosted MCP server, Agent Skills and
webhooks are on every plan, the free one included.

The agent's credential can publish if its user can. On Free and Creator there's one user, who can. On Business, a
Write-role user drafts and someone with publish access schedules.

**Fits:** a writer whose agent drafts threads and posts for X and LinkedIn. Free covers 10 posts a month; Creator is $99
a year, billed yearly only; Business $20 a month per social set ($18 billed yearly).
[Flaghand vs Typefully](/docs/guides/flaghand-vs-typefully).

## 5. OpenTweet: an X agent that posts by itself

OpenTweet gives an agent one API key for its REST API, a CLI on npm and a hosted MCP server with 44 tools. It posts to X,
Bluesky and LinkedIn personal profiles, with X Articles, an evergreen queue and X DM campaigns.

Its own setup page says the agent "can now create, schedule, and publish posts autonomously". Posts have no approval
step; each X DM in a campaign waits for yours.

**Fits:** X-first accounts that want the agent to run on its own. Pro is $19.99 a month ($15.83 billed yearly), Advanced
$29 and Agency $49, after a 7-day trial that needs a card. More in [Flaghand vs OpenTweet](/docs/guides/flaghand-vs-opentweet).

## 6. Publer: low price per account

Publer posts to 13 networks, X on paid plans only. Its API and hosted MCP server come with Business and Enterprise.
A credential with the `posts` scope can publish; no scope is draft-only. Members' posts can need approval from an
owner, admin or client, but Full Posting Access skips it.

**Fits:** a small budget across many accounts. Business is $10 a month for one account ($8 billed yearly) or $21 for
three, after a 14-day trial. [Flaghand vs Publer](/docs/guides/flaghand-vs-publer).

## 7. Zernio (formerly Late): developers, with free accounts

Late's getlate.dev now redirects to Zernio, an API for posting to 12 social networks, with a hosted MCP server you
connect by OAuth or API key. The key schedules and publishes; there's no approval step.

**Fits:** a developer building posting into an app or an agent. The first 2 connected accounts are free; then $6 an
account a month for accounts 3 to 10, and less above that. [Flaghand vs Zernio](/docs/guides/flaghand-vs-zernio).

## 8. Ayrshare: apps that post for their customers

Ayrshare is a posting API built for products with many customers, each with their own profile of connected networks. It
lists 13 networks, LinkedIn company pages included, and has a hosted MCP server. Its API key publishes; a post can ask
for approval with a `requiresApproval` flag, which is off by default.

**Fits:** a SaaS or agency backend. Premium is $149 a month for one profile, Launch $299 for up to 10 with a 28-day
free trial, and Business from $599. [Flaghand vs Ayrshare](/docs/guides/flaghand-vs-ayrshare).

## 9. Blotato: n8n, Make and AI-made content

Blotato makes the content too (AI writing, images, video and voices) and posts it to 9 networks. It has its own n8n
node and Make modules, an API and a hosted MCP server. Requests made with its API key publish.

**Fits:** automation builders who want AI-made posts with nobody watching. Starter is $29 a month for 20 accounts,
Creator $97 and Agency $499. The 7-day trial doesn't include the API or MCP: making an API key starts the paid plan.
[Flaghand vs Blotato](/docs/guides/flaghand-vs-blotato).

## 10. Hootsuite: large teams already on it

Hootsuite's MCP servers work in ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot and Gemini. Its publishing server, Perch, saves drafts only:
a person publishes them in Hootsuite. Its REST API, for approved developers, can schedule posts. It posts to 9 networks and adds an inbox,
listening and reports.

**Fits:** a team that already runs its social media in Hootsuite. Standard is $99 per user a month, Professional $199
and Advanced $399, billed yearly, after a 14-day trial. [Flaghand vs Hootsuite](/docs/guides/flaghand-vs-hootsuite).

## Questions

**What is the best social media scheduler for AI agents?** It depends on whether the agent may publish by itself.
Postiz reaches the most networks (34) and is open source. Buffer has a free plan with its MCP server. Flaghand is the
pick when a person must approve every post, because no Flaghand token can publish. Typefully suits X and LinkedIn
writers, and OpenTweet an X agent that runs on its own.

**Which social media schedulers have an MCP server?** Postiz, Buffer, Flaghand, Typefully, OpenTweet, Publer, Zernio,
Ayrshare, Blotato and Hootsuite, as of November 3, 2026. Buffer and Typefully include it on their free plans. Publer
includes it on Business and Enterprise, and Blotato on paid plans only.

**Which scheduler makes the agent wait for my approval?** Flaghand on every plan: its agent tokens can't approve,
schedule or post, and each post needs the owner's passkey approval of the exact post. Hootsuite's publishing MCP
server saves drafts only. Buffer, Typefully and Publer can hold a team member's posts for approval, and Ayrshare has an approval flag
that is off by default.

**Is there a free social media scheduler with an MCP server?** Yes. Buffer is free for 3 channels, Typefully for 10
posts a month, and Zernio for 2 connected accounts. Postiz is free if you host it yourself.

**Can Claude or ChatGPT schedule social media posts?** Yes, once you connect a scheduler's MCP server, for example as a
custom connector in Claude or ChatGPT. Every tool on this list has one. With Flaghand, the agent drafts and you approve
each post before it's scheduled.
