Questions.
What does this Bluesky post preview show?
Your draft at the width of Bluesky’s feed, on desktop or a phone, in light or dark: your name and handle, its line breaks, links, mentions and hashtags, a photo, Bluesky’s character count and where Show more cuts it. It is Flaghand’s preview, not a screenshot from Bluesky.
How long can a Bluesky post be?
300 characters, counted as you see them: an emoji counts 1, even one made of several. A link counts as Bluesky shortens it in the post, its site and up to 15 characters more.
When does Bluesky show Show more?
When a post has 25 or more line breaks, the feed shows its first 25 lines, then Show more. Opened on its own, the whole post shows.
How does Bluesky show a photo?
A wide photo fills the post’s width at its own shape. A tall one is as tall as the post is wide, at its own shape. One taller than 1:2 is cropped to 1:2, with a mark in its corner.
Is my post uploaded?
No. The preview is drawn in your browser. Nothing you type or add is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.
How do I share a preview?
Copy link copies a link that opens this same preview: the text and settings ride in it after the #, which browsers never send to a server, and photos stay out. Download PNG saves the post as an image at twice its size, drawn in your browser.
