# Bluesky post preview

https://flaghand.com/bluesky-post-preview previews your draft at the width of Bluesky's feed: your name and handle, its line
breaks, links, mentions, hashtags and photo crop, on desktop or a phone, in light or dark (Bluesky's dim), with Bluesky's
character count and where Show more cuts a post of 25 or more line breaks. It is Flaghand's preview, not a screenshot from
Bluesky. Free, no sign-up. It runs in your browser: nothing you type or add is uploaded or stored, and there is no API.

## How to use it

1. Type or paste the post. Add your name and handle, and a photo if the post has one.
2. Switch between Desktop and Phone, Light and Dark.
3. Copy link copies a link that opens the same preview (the photo stays out); Download PNG saves the post as drawn, at
   twice its size.

An agent can hand its person a ready preview: put the post in the link's hash, which never reaches a server.

Fields: text, name, handle, view=desktop|phone, theme=light|dark. Bluesky counts 300 characters as you see them (an emoji
1), each link as Bluesky shortens it.

## Questions.

### What does this Bluesky post preview show?

Your draft at the width of Bluesky’s feed, on desktop or a phone, in light or dark: your name and handle, its line breaks, links, mentions and hashtags, a photo, Bluesky’s character count and where Show more cuts it. It is Flaghand’s preview, not a screenshot from Bluesky.

### How long can a Bluesky post be?

300 characters, counted as you see them: an emoji counts 1, even one made of several. A link counts as Bluesky shortens it in the post, its site and up to 15 characters more.

### When does Bluesky show Show more?

When a post has 25 or more line breaks, the feed shows its first 25 lines, then Show more. Opened on its own, the whole post shows.

### How does Bluesky show a photo?

A wide photo fills the post’s width at its own shape. A tall one is as tall as the post is wide, at its own shape. One taller than 1:2 is cropped to 1:2, with a mark in its corner.

### Is my post uploaded?

No. The preview is drawn in your browser. Nothing you type or add is sent anywhere or stored, and the page sets no cookies.

### How do I share a preview?

Copy link copies a link that opens this same preview: the text and settings ride in it after the #, which browsers never send to a server, and photos stay out. Download PNG saves the post as an image at twice its size, drawn in your browser.

## Flaghand

Flaghand's desk draws every Bluesky draft this way, and its owner approves exactly the preview they saw. "Schedule this with Flaghand" on the page takes the text (not the photos) on to sign-up, in the link's hash, which no server sees, and the first draft opens with it.

Flaghand is X and LinkedIn posting for AI agents: your agent drafts through Flaghand's API, CLI or MCP server, you
approve the exact preview with your passkey, and Flaghand posts exactly that.
Sign up at https://app.flaghand.com/start. In a chat app, add the connector at https://app.flaghand.com/mcp: its sign-in page creates the account. An agent with a shell can start the sign-up for its person over HTTP (https://flaghand.com/llms.txt, Quickstart).

For agents: https://flaghand.com/llms.txt (this site) and https://app.flaghand.com/llms.txt (the product's agent guide).
